Seasonal Beauty

“Nature gives to every time and season some beauties of its own; and from morning to night, it is but a succession of changes so gentle and easy that we can scarcely mark their progress.” Charles Dickens
Officially it is winter in the tropics, the time of year when whales migrate right past the beach front to their winter vacation spots. Me and the little point&shoot could barely pick them out but local rangers pointed out that some of the salt spray was actually whales breaching. Click to enlarge

Migaloo the white humpback whale has been past already and always attacks a lot of attention. Try this link for a peek into how close the whales have been hanging around this season.

The way the ocean disappears into pure light is amazing... a truly beautiful photo! I can almost smell the salt spray. Thank you for sharing this moment. And thank you for your kind comment, it means a lot to me.

This photo clearly illustrates the truth in the Dicken's quote--and whales!? Just knowing they're out there is fantastic.

To me this would fill me with sadness knowing these wonderful whales are leaving..as do my world of butterflys and hummingbirds for their warmer winter homes.Having said that I can feel the sound of the waves as I stare at this image!Lovely. Enjoy your weekend!

I think I might have spotted a whale in the enlarged picture..., just the idea even of them swimming by so close must be magical.
