Things you see

"What you see and hear
depends a good deal
on where you are standing;
it also depends on
what kind of person you are. "
CS Lewis author Chronicle of Narnia and Voyage of the Dawn Treader movie

Which sums up what was going on in trying to get this picture and how fans of
Sky Watch Friday see our patch of the sky.

A film set has been erected in a local beach park for Voyage of the Dawn Treader and their dragon boat is impressive.

In the interest of public safety, tall fences have been placed a good distance from the area meaning you can not get a photo of the full boat without a tree stuck up the middle and a half dozen pieces of equipment in the way.

Watching the photography buffs climbing up trees and fences trying to get a better angle was pretty entertaining. But then again, it is not every day you have a dragon floating by your beach or patch of sky.

Dreams

“You are never too old to set another goal
or to dream a new dream” C.S. Lewis
Celebrating Sky Watch Friday with hundreds of bloggers from all over the world with their own view of the sky.

Photos from a fabulous visit to Melbourne this week. One of my top 3 favourite cities. Melbourne’s Exhibition building was completed in 1880 while the area was enjoying a gold rush.
The Royal Exhibition Building continues to serve as one of the world's oldest exhibition pavilions and has been included on World Heritage List.

When it was built the Great Hall was the largest building in Australia and the highest building in Melbourne. You can see a lot of the influence of different elements from Byzantine, Romanesque and Italian Renaissance buildings and the dome design was influenced by Brunelleschi’s 15th-century cathedral in Florence.

And mmm mm mm dinner at the Society Restaurant, the décor and renovations are beautifully crafted. Got to try their Risotto con Gamberoni, prawns, crunchy granny smiths and saffron combination was the tastiest thing we have had in ages.

Happy Moments

“The moments of happiness we enjoy most usually take us by surprise. It is not that we seize them, but they seize us.” Ashley Montagu

Sat waiting for the sun to slip over the horizon to capture a pretty photograph and the second
after I clicked – just past that marker buoy – a dolphin leapt out of water. You never know when nature is going to surprise you with those little added extras.

Thank you to all that who asked about the little strawberry box on show at the Ekka.

Everyone enjoyed the fresh and creative use of paper. Using the Rapt In Paper box kit made construction pretty quick and left me to play with the design.

Spells of Wonder

“The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever.” Jacques Yves Cousteau

Bit like
Sky Watch Friday, get into the habit of stopping to notice what is going on up there and sure enough there seems to be so many pretty skies to enjoy.

And a little peek into a new altered book project we are working on.
