Dreams

“You are never too old to set another goal
or to dream a new dream” C.S. Lewis
Celebrating Sky Watch Friday with hundreds of bloggers from all over the world with their own view of the sky.

Photos from a fabulous visit to Melbourne this week. One of my top 3 favourite cities. Melbourne’s Exhibition building was completed in 1880 while the area was enjoying a gold rush.
The Royal Exhibition Building continues to serve as one of the world's oldest exhibition pavilions and has been included on World Heritage List.

When it was built the Great Hall was the largest building in Australia and the highest building in Melbourne. You can see a lot of the influence of different elements from Byzantine, Romanesque and Italian Renaissance buildings and the dome design was influenced by Brunelleschi’s 15th-century cathedral in Florence.

And mmm mm mm dinner at the Society Restaurant, the décor and renovations are beautifully crafted. Got to try their Risotto con Gamberoni, prawns, crunchy granny smiths and saffron combination was the tastiest thing we have had in ages.

Mandy are you sure about its being the highest building in Melbourne? Higher than St. Pat's?
The Exhibitions buildings certinly brings up memories of shaky kneen sitting my matric. exams there and late at uni. going to a formal and dancing with the Governor, ah yes, those were the days...

The building is beautiful, inside and out. I love that quote, too. In fact, I am sending this address to my husband who will be starting a new life phrase in another year or so.
