Glorious Horizons

"Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-fruitful path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb." Sir Winston Churchill

Photo taken on the road to the family farm in northern NSW. I had been trying to take a photo of the city skyline all week. Most days of the week my glimpse of the sky is out the windows of skyscrapers and commuter trains. Tried a few things that are out of the scope of my little point & shoot camera. Will keep trying while posting photos of some of my old favourites. Don’t forget to check out who else is participating in Sky Watch Friday.

A canvas project I am working on for family with vintage photos and ephemera.

Hi Mandy!

Just stopped by to say hello! Summer is turning out to be beautiful here in NB!!

I keep telling my "world traveller wanna be" son that I have lots of Pea friends all over the world! Maybe you will see him down your way someday!

Your photos are absolutely fantastic. You are a great photographer.

Here in Norway it's just raining and raining. I'm waiting for the sun now. :)

That is sure a beautiful sky--actually I like the whole thing. I was going to ask if I could come take a walk with you there, but think I would have to take a little plane ride first...

I am now taking a diminishing dose of steroids for my Rheumatoid Arthritis pain and it works. I believe the chemotherapy drug is spelled "Methotrexate" that is used to treat a lot of things from cancer to arthritis will be used next. I just relish in being pain free.

So I am not participating in Sky Watch Friday just because I might not be able to make it around to all and that would not be right for me.

I don't know if you like to read or not but if you do this place is amazing. Strand's bookstore in New York City. They have 18 miles of used books. Think about that—18 miles. I don't know how in the world they can keep track of so many books. I ordered three used books, got them and they are in excellent condition. http://www.strandbooks.com/app/www/p/home/ I am not pushing them but I was just dumbfounded when I found them and I suspect my mentioning them is going to make some other people doubt their eyes when they go there.

I enjoyed seeing your blog post for Sky Watch Friday and I thought your photography was excellent.

The trees did it for me! Good to see another Australian participating. It is nice to go into the countryside after being in the city all week. My shot is from just north of Sydney.

I had tagged your blog to revisit after the rush of SWF. I think I can see how you organise your posts. What has taken my fancy is the family ephemera on canvas. I am not an artistic person, so what comes out wonderful for others tends to come out quite "boxy" for me.

What you have started with does look very beautiful.
