Faith & understanding

"A better world shall emerge based on faith and understanding."  Douglas MacArthur

Happy Sky Watch Friday when the world feels a bit smaller and friendlier with 100s of bloggers from all over sharing a peek into their view of the horizon.
Quick to date with links to give-aways for great books hosted by fabulous bloggers at Katherine's Old Boat Shed Woolloongabba and Sarah at the Beach Cottage

Our recent adventures at Mistified needed a bit of faith to achieve a better understanding, so many times we were all saying, really, can you do that? but had the best fun discovering so many new techniques, you can tell this one is one of my favorites.

Bridges and dreams

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams, if one advances confidently in the direction of one's dreams and endeavours to live the life which one has imagined one will meet with a success unexpected in common hours” Henry David Thoreau
Modern transportation requirements will see the end of this little bridge shortly. It is a much loved little local landmark on a back road short cut that many a family has appreciated the tiny one car at a time route that forced us all to stop to wait for each other to pass over with friendly waves to say thanks.

And thanks to our hosts of Sky Watch Friday, organising the hundreds of bloggers from all over sharing their own views of the horizon.   Quick hot links to give-aways for great books hosted by fabulous bloggers at Katherine's Old Boat Shed Woolloongabba and Sarah at the Beach Cottage
Posting some sneak peeks into some of the creations out of our Mistified adventure, there was so much to play with and really enjoyed sharing the experience with other excited crafters.

So very true for the fans of Sky Watch, the sky starts to become a whole lot more interesting when you take the time to notice what is going on up there. Check Sky Watch Friday and 100s of bloggers with their own view of the horizon.  And because we know you like a little local colour and wildlife
And a page from my altered book on seasons with the theme of Mothers for Mixed Media Monday.

Turning Tides

“When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hang on a minute longer, never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn” Harriet Beecher Stowe
Yippie Skippy it is another Sky Watch Friday, got to love the concept of enjoying the simple pleasures of seeing what is on show in the sky from different parts of the world.

Happiness

"We act as though comfort and luxury were the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about." Albert Einstein

Thank you to our hosts of Sky Watch Friday, their weekly blog party brings together 100s of enthusiastic bloggers from all over the world with their own view of the horizon. It is a simple concept that really catches the imagination, something as simple as the sky, that we all share provides such a huge variety of entertaining views.

This week's edition of Mixed Media Monday has the theme of dolls and I could not go past this cute little Kewpie Doll, used a gel medium transfer and lots of glimmer mist techniques to the background.
