Jacqui’s Gold Work

Gold has been the choice of designers through the centuries in décor and jewellery. In tombs dated back AD400, archaeologist have found gold strips woven into fabric. Many churches continue to embellish or embroider vestments and wall hangings with metallic threads.

Goldwork (embroidery) uses fine strands of metallic thread, coiled wires, gold beads blended together to capture the eye and bring a richness to a designs that photos can not do justice to.

Altered Book

My friend Jacqueline gave me this book for my birthday. Really entertaining read with a Henry James style twist to the tale. Decided to recycle the book with decorated pages for a present back to J when she does the long flight from Australia to London in a few weeks time.

Sorry we can’t show the pages inside as we know she would be peeking.

Happy New Year

The verse on the inside of the card is an Inuit Legend quoted in a few movies.

‘perhaps they are not stars in the sky but rather openings in heaven where the love of
our lost ones pours through & shines down to let us know they are happy.’

Every year my Christmas cards go into production in June, it is always a sad coincidence that by Christmas the nice quote that I picked for one reason becomes more significant
by the time they are arrive at their destination.

Posted in fond memory of absent friends & family this holiday season.

Happy New Year everyone – may 2007 bring much good luck & cheer all around.
